When I began my studies in this sector all those years ago, I discovered the wonderful designs in fabrics, wallpapers and furniture, that in Ireland were nearly buried by the masses of factory produced items on sale. This created in me a desire to showcase these amazing designs.I felt that there was no-where for people to view what was on the market from these leading international design houses. The magazines were, and still are a great source for fuelling and developing ideas, but where can these items be found?
CHARLES NEWHAVEN was opened...
Our showroom has over 1000sq ft of fabulous furnishings on show. We have chosen not to have curios for the house, instead we have devoted the entire shop floor and walls to displays. In our showrooms, lengths of fabrics flow gracefully from the ceiling to the floor. Wallpaper adorns the walls & sample rolls allow you to take home a selection of patterns!
Poles, such an essential part to the finish of your curtains, are displayed from the pre-packed to hand-turned and hand-gilt. We discovered a unique collection of lighting, more like pieces of art. Paint is displayed in painted squares to give you a true indication of the true colours (this was done by hand and very painstaking!).
But most of all space - loads of space for you to come and pull the books out and brouse at your leisure through this beautiful world of interiors.
